Candy Corn?

This week’s Truthful Tuesday from https://sparksfromacombustiblemind.wordpress.com/2022/10/04/truthful-tuesday-10-4-2022/ and the question is do I like candy corn. I live in the UK, so we don’t really have it.

It is only in the last twenty years that we have gone trick or treating. I went with my daughter when she was about ten years old, and always went with her. I still go with her now; the only difference is that she takes her own daughter with her.

This year, my daughter’s idea is for her little girl to go around as a crazy cat lady, with pictures of cats on a bathrobe. She is clever at sewing, and crafting, so I will love to see how it turns out. I will go around with them, because memories are something special.

We collect all types of sweets for trick or treating, and some houses we went to last year were inventive. My daughter has her own house decked in Halloween decorations, including her garden. TK Max is her favourite shop (although I have been told they have sold all their Halloween gifts) Shops tend to sell things which are of that theme. If all else fails a big tub of quality street or celebrations is the way to go.

I have a dog, and because of this we tend to not get many trick or treaters, but we do buy some sweets just in case we get anyone knocking on the door. After a certain time we turn the hallway light off, so we don’t upset our Shottie.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
