Buyer Beware

‘This fantastic period piece, a landmark structure is well sought after,’ the estate agent said, as she showed another couple around. ‘It is a doer upper, but I can see that you are both keen to show what promise this beautiful abode can be.’

There was no cooker in the kitchen, which looked to be the perfect size for a rat. When they walked up the stairs, one of the steps was missing, and the damp patch in the corner was growing its own plant life.

‘You would be mad not to invest in a property like this, and the price, well a snip at ten thousand. I mean you would be paying quadruple for a property in this location, with the brilliant amenities.’

They looked at each other, turned around, and walked back out of the slanted house.
