Comfort Food

The word soup from https://weeklyprompts.com/2022/10/19/weekly-prompts-wednesday-challenge-soup/ and it the perfect word for winter. I love a good soup. Whether it be the homemade kind or the type you buy in a tin.

My daughter makes the best tomato soup (Slimming world style) and you can’t tell the difference between that and tinned. The only difference is that hers isn’t full of sugar and salt. When I was a child, my mum used to make a stew. She would start cooking it from the morning, and the smell lingered in the kitchen for hours. Adding potatoes, carrots, soup, gravy and suet dumplings.

I would have two bowls and maybe go for a third.

My favourite flavour soup is tomato, although I do like other flavours. The trouble is, when I eat it, I need to have bread to go with it, which is not so great when you need to lose weight, but then it is a comfort food.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
