Paint, paper, Oh Well

Written in response to https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/author/sadje19/

Her Grannie had said to do some painting at the table while she was washing up. There was a whole heap of paints in front of her, and no paper. It was an instant decision. She thought her white top was just, well, too plain.

It looked much better afterwards.

Red, yellow, blue, orange; Stacey loved it anyway.

Her Mummy, not so much. She arrived in from work to a clean house, but a very untidy child. Grannie said she was a little quiet but didn’t expect an explosion of colour after only ten minutes.

Oh well, it is the artists perception, which counted the most, so it didn’t matter. A family WhatsApp photograph later, they were all laughing. Mary got her house clean, and a story to tell when her little girl was older.

You had one job Grannie!

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
