This Time Next Year

It is something I don’t think will ever happen.

You just won a giant lottery jackpot. What are the first three things you’re going to do with the money you won?

I have been doing the National lottery in the UK but stopped and changed to the postcode lottery instead. I haven’t had much luck in that either, winning a few ten pounds but that is it. Nobody has knocked on my door with a large cheque.

If I did win, I would be in shock. I would tell friends and family, probably celebrate with a few drinks. I would buy my daughter’s house, buy my son a house. Get all the jobs done in my house, even thinking of selling it, moving back to where I used to live. I live far away from family and would love to see them more than I do.

I would give a large amount to charity – Cancer research, Heart, homeless.

It’s a lot of money, and difficult to think about how I would spend it.

That’s more than three, but my first thought would be my friends and family. I would like them to be in a position where they are free from worry. Money doesn’t buy happiness, but it would sure help them.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
