Elizabeth

The Word of the Day is Adoration, is from https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/author/talesfromthemindofkristian/

Diana gazed in adoration at her baby sleeping in the cot next to her bed. It had been a long labour, but she couldn’t stop thinking how lucky she felt. This beautiful baby girl, Elizabeth, named after her husband’s grandmother, was hers. She had created something special, something she would always protect.

That mop of jet-black hair, a family tradition

Stirring in her cot, she gave a little cough, before going back to sleep. Did babies dream? She wasn’t sure, but this felt like a dream. For so long, she wanted to have a child. At twenty-five, she was an older mum, but that didn’t matter. All that mattered was she was perfect.

Slipping back on the pillow, she finally succumbed to sleep.

As her baby woke, her cry was special, and gently she took her baby and held her in her safe arms. ‘I’ll always look after you,’ she said. ‘I’ll always be there for you, I promise.’

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
