Thankful For

She asks what we are thankful for.

I am thankful for my friends and family, we may not see each other every day, but I am so lucky I have them. I spoke to my bestie the other day. We hadn’t spoken in a while, but when we did, we were on the phone for a long while. It didn’t cost anything, as I called on WhatsApp. My son, daughter, granddaughter, husband, I see most days. I love them all, so much.

I have a roof over my head, I don’t go hungry. Yes, there are times when I need to budget, but together, as a family, we manage. I am safe and know if I need anyone they will be there.

There are so many people less fortunate, some struggling with poverty, some with home life, some with depression, anxiety, fear.

Especially at this time of year.

So, yes, I am thankful, because I am safe, loved, and happy.
