Friendship is a prompt word from

I have two friends I would consider best friends. Theresa, my bestie, who I met when I was twelve, and Sheila, who I met when I was seventeen. Each time I took a chance, and was so glad I did.


My heart pounding in my chest,

Imagination to reveal the rest,

I crept towards this friendly face,

With an increasing fumbling grace,

Every moment caught in time,

Wishing courage would stay mine,

But several times I tried to turn,

But then knew I would never learn

That true friendship can overturn

  1. I watch my five year old granddaughter navigate the waters of friendship. It is interesting to watch from this purview of age and experience. Two best friends sounds like a treasure.
