You’re The Pilot

It was the government’s motto ‘The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.’ Since 2043, and the invention of time travel, time flew for the rich. They could travel back and forth, without censorship. If they wanted to bring back valuables, or even live another life, they could.

For the poor, it was a way of keeping them under control. They could never be the pilot, and many found themselves deleted from the human race. One moment alive, with a wife, husband, or partner. The next their whole existence erased.

Children, opportunities, jobs gone in an instant. No warning. Nothing to let you know your life was at an end. People lived for ever, the planet’s surface depleted, space travel was the only answer.

Many animals were extinct, the rainforest replaced with oxygen modules instead.

Sar wished she could travel back in time, bring back technology, which could save them. The only problem – it was illegal to change time – for the likes of her anyway. She decided, enough, I have to do something.

Stealing a time pass, from her employer, it was time to be her own pilot.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. That story really had my mind jumping. Just like England deporting criminals to Australia, way back when. The new concept of time travel allowed criminals and undesirables to be deported back in time. Great concept.
