It’s A Date

Written this week for https://girlieontheedge1.wordpress.com/2023/02/12/sundays-six-sentence-story-word-prompt-249/. The prompt word today is date.

Sitting at the bar, with a glass of wine, she waited for her date to arrive.

She wasn’t sure a Valentine’s meeting would work, and five minutes late, her date thought so too. Emptying the glass, she brought out another five pound note. Expensive, it would have been easier to get a bottle from Tesco, and watch a movie.

‘Hi, is your name Clara?’

She looked up to see her partner, with the biggest smile on her face.
