I’m Busy Sharing My World

I am writing this https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/2023/02/27/share-your-world-27th-february/

  1.  Did you attend Sunday School at your local church as a child? I went to Sunday school, while Mum and Dad went to church. My mum was brought up to have communion, since she was ill as a child. She got Scarlet fever, and was very ill. It was fun, although I think I would have preferred to go to the park.
  2.  Did you attend after school classes ie. drama, sports, as a teenager? I was part of the netball team. I played goal defence. I liked drama and played a mother in a 1900’s play. I was so nervous, I forgot my one line. The other part I played was a can-can girl. I couldn’t get my legs that high now, I would do myself an injury.
  3.  Did you go to evening classes after you had left school? I did my GCSE English language in 2020. I work in a school, and struggled with year eleven English. I didn’t actually do the exam, as COVID had other ideas. I passed with a grade 7. I would love to do my Math’s at some point. I am in so many classes, as a teaching assistant, and would like to think I am not too bad at it. Although, I may still miss the algebra questions – I still don’t like the subject.
  4.  Do you now belong to any groups/meetings (ie WI, single (not dating), young Mums, slimming clubs, young wives,  Men’s hobbies ) Before I moved, I was part of a writing group run by my local library. A lady called Kate was our teacher, as she had written a few books. We used to write something every week, and would get critique, in the form of post stick notes. I was lucky to be part of that group and amazing writers, young and old. Now I belong to a group of writers, run by a local author Nicky Peacock. Two of us write every week, and get feedback on our writing. Again, the talent of the authors involved, is something I love being a part of. I am also part of a team of amateur play writers. Last year, all our plays (on VR360) headsets, were performed by actors. Mine, ”The Kingswood Beast” was filmed in the woodlands in my local area. If you want to look, type in Cube, or the Kingswood Beast and you can watch it for yourselves. All the directors, and writers are amateurs. There were four other plays for the same venue, and I would highly recommend anyone to watch them. I am waiting to see if we can have another go at writing plays. Also, I go to Slimming World, in a bid to lose weight. I lost three stone originally, but struggling a little more to lose some of the weight I put back on. It is nice to go out though, and it does help me think about my food choices.

I am pretty busy really, but when I am home it is nice to relax. Although, not very good at that, so I am always doing something. Blogging, playing games on my mobile, or crafting. I do like watching detective, murder mysteries just to wind down from my day.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. Thanks for sharing your world Diana. I used to play Goal Shooter or Goal Attack in netball. In my teens, I took up ten pin bowling and darts in my 20s. I joined Slimming World originally in 2016, then again when we moved but now I’ve stopped going as they’ve moved the venue and I’ve got twitchy about crowded places and people I don’t know. The weight is creeping on again so I’m going to take it to task from March 1st.
