Remember Me

Written in response to https://earthlycomforts.uk/2023/03/05/a-wild-aloha-to-you-24/

How long will you be remembered for once you are no more?

Who knows, I suppose for the time any one of my family thinks of me. I am now of that generation, by that I mean, one of the oldest in the generation. My children should remember me, but I would like then to get on with their lives too. Time shouldn’t stand still, but move forward. I want to be here long enough so that my granddaughter and grandson remember me.

Considering that only 5% of the world’s oceans have been explored and charted, what do you think lurks in our world’s hidden and unknown waters?

I think we should leave well alone, look at the damage we have done to the rest of our planet since the industrial revolution. In over 200 years we have polluted our oceans with plastic and oil. Polluted the skies so that our oxygen levels are depleted. Cut down rain forests for our own needs, destroying habitats, plants and animals are extinct because of us.

Are soul mates a real thing?

Soul mates, probably not, life partners, yes. It isn’t for everybody, some people like to be alone. Some love to have partners around them. We have other genders, all of which I don’t really know about, but they will be their own people too. Saying that, Science is progressing and perhaps we will find out that soul mates are actually a thing. We don’t really understand what will happen when we die, and perhaps a little part of us lives on.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
