Dreaming

The question from https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/category/my-question/

I would love to write for a living.

Selling my book, so that I don’t have to do the whole nine to five, is something I have always wanted to do. When I first self published I was lured into vanity publishing, thinking they would make me enough money to live on. That was nothing but a dream. Not just because the editing wasn’t good enough. The writing was basic, and looking back, I wish I had paid an editor rather than sending it to a publisher, who didn’t think of anything more than taking my money.

Writing on my blog, as another blogger mentioned, is a different way of publishing. I am proud of being in this industry. I would love to get a book published properly, and never say never. I have written a commissioned play, had a poem published in an anthology, and self published my book ”It Won’t Happen Again”.

In a way, I have achieved my dream of being a writer, but there is more to come.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
