Shine

A sunset, sinks into the horizon, ready to say goodbye, but not before its graceful glory danced. It was a beautiful sight. Every human, animal and plant in the world knew it would soon be replaced by a different kind of sun. Giving brightness, in their own way.

Buds folded into each other, their petals clasped together, as if in prayer. Animals closed their eyes, ready for the night’s rest. Humans watched, as the red sky swept across the clouds.

Good night, shepherd’s delight.

It would return in the morning, well rested, to give another day the chance to shine.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
