Queen for a Day

Today’s question from https://pensitivity101.wordpress.com/2023/05/09/truthful-tuesday-9th-may/

If you could be King (or Queen) for a day, how would you spend it?

I would love to think I could do some good in the world, but just to have a day where my only need would be my own sounds good. So, I assume the palace has a big library. I hope so, because I reckon I would take a day off from my royal duties and wake up at ten in the morning.

I would give my butlers, maids, and cooks the day off.

Reading a book for the first hour, I would go downstairs, to make me an unhealthy breakfast of pancakes, syrup, more pancakes and a huge pot of coffee. I would even wash up, as they don’t want to go back to work and the kitchen is a mess.

A bubble bath, with extra bubbles, another book, and I’m set for the next few hours. Maybe a glass of champagne. Would that be over the top? Now I’m ready for a walk. I’m more of a German Shephard owner, so I would have several. I would let them off lead, and I would walk in the countryside.

Now, I would treat myself to a take-out – probably a pizza, with ham and pineapple on it. A great tip for the driver. A thousand pounds is a good amount. Careful to recycle the box, I would bring out another bottle.

A good book, perhaps a murder mystery, and I will have an early night.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
