We write, either from experience or from what we see of others.
I hope to put a more confident version of myself in my writing.
As a child, two boys bullied me. My first book, ‘‘Sticks and Stones’’, covered the topic and how it silently affects its victims. I went through a flawed method to self-publish. I paid, and it was the wrong thing to do.
They missed glaring mistakes.
When I wrote ‘‘It Won’t Happen Again’’, Martha wasn’t based on me. I am happily married, and it is a joint partnership. Someone in my family escaped a violent marriage, and I hoped to give the victim another voice.

Yes, working on the synopsis, but I always find it more difficult to write than the book.

I don’t see how a writer cannot put even the tiniest piece of themselves in their writing 🙂

It’s our experience, and research. Mine tends to be women’s fiction. My virtual play was from a male viewpoint.
