Physical

Before Amazon, we would have to go to a physical shop.

It helped with spending habits because you had time to think about what you were buying. Although, as https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/author/newepicauthor/ said, credit cards make it too easy to spend. I don’t have them anymore; hopefully learnt my lesson. If I am without the money, I will not buy it.

However, it gets difficult when my five-year-old granddaughter gives me the ‘‘please grannie’’ look … it is difficult to say no. We are trying to teach her to save up for what she wants to buy; it is a slow process.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.

  1. I was always an instant gratification type, but with the ease of online shopping, I have learned to have to wait for my purchases to arrive, and in my case, I think that has been a good thig. Something I needed to learn.

  2. We want what we want and we want it now. We are impatient and we don’t want to wait and I think this has created a demanding people. Strawberries are best in June-September (if you get the late growing ones) but let’s face it, we want them in January.

I think it is sad that kids are not taught to wait for stuff. They don’t even appreciate that which they didn’t wait for.

    Excellent post, Diana!
