Before Amazon, we would have to go to a physical shop.
It helped with spending habits because you had time to think about what you were buying. Although, as https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/author/newepicauthor/ said, credit cards make it too easy to spend. I don’t have them anymore; hopefully learnt my lesson. If I am without the money, I will not buy it.
However, it gets difficult when my five-year-old granddaughter gives me the ‘‘please grannie’’ look … it is difficult to say no. We are trying to teach her to save up for what she wants to buy; it is a slow process.
Thank you Diana for sharing. Grandkids know how to manipulate grandparents.

I was always an instant gratification type, but with the ease of online shopping, I have learned to have to wait for my purchases to arrive, and in my case, I think that has been a good thig. Something I needed to learn.

It must be very difficult for you to say “No” to your grandchildren.

yes it is hard but it best to teach them young that they can not have everything they want yesterday 💜💜

Exactly, and mostly it is stuff they forget.

We want what we want and we want it now. We are impatient and we don’t want to wait and I think this has created a demanding people. Strawberries are best in June-September (if you get the late growing ones) but let’s face it, we want them in January.
I think it is sad that kids are not taught to wait for stuff. They don’t even appreciate that which they didn’t wait for.
Excellent post, Diana!

It is important to teach children about waiting to get something. There is that too so you shouldn’t feel bad to say no.

It is nice you are teaching her to save up for items, she’ll appreciate them more then. X
