When I looked inside, I saw no sign of life whatever except a extremely fat mouse. My first instinct was to scream. Mice are not my favourite animals, in fact I’m a little bit terrified of them. However, something was missing from my box – a carrot cake with butter icing on top. I brought it from a cake shop earlier in the day, and by mistake I left it in the car.

How this rodent got in my car – I do not know, but I was looking forward to that cake.

His eyes lifted towards mine, and the remnants of my treat around its lips, dropped into the box like confetti. Fat pouches of sugar filled his cheeks and it looked like he was smiling.
