Truthful Tuesday – Working at Home

Working from home – that’s the dream.

In 2020, during COVID, I worked from home for a few months. Not unusual, and for many has become a normal way of working. I work in a school as learning support, and it is difficult to support when the school was open.

To give us something to do, we needed to complete some word documents to help support students when we got back from lockdown. Me being me, I took that as working on documents to show the work I used to support students in the past. I sent work in every day, until I found out I didn’t need to to do so.

I would love to write for a living, and work from home, but until then I will write in my spare time. It isn’t just a hobby for me. Writing has been part of my life since I was old enough to hold a pen. Over the years I have learnt from others, and listened to critique. It is the only way I can get better at the craft I love so much.

I hope one day an agent, or publisher will read my blog, or purchase my novel and take a chance on a self published author. I get there are many of us out there, but then I didn’t think I would be paid to write a play.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
