What possessed me to go on Tinder? Boredom? Long lonely evenings with just my cat for company? I wasn’t sure, but sitting opposite my date, that’s where I wanted to be.
He insisted on ordering the most expensive wine, and shared one glass with her. There were so many things she knew about his ex-wife, and the alimony, which was apparently crippling him.
It had gone so well at first.
A rugged face, bright blue eyes, and the best made-to-measure suit. The restaurant he chose, was the most aspiring she had ever been to. Waiters calling her madam, and out in her best dress.
Now all she wanted was to be curled up on the sofa, with her cat at her feet. A cup of warm cocoa, and a large piece of cake. Under the table, she called herself on her mobile. It rang out, and she answered straight away.
”How awful, I’ll be there straight away,” she said, paying her half of the bill.
