Writing is a Full Time Job

Today Frank’s questions are

Have you ever felt that one particular activity seemed to be consuming more of your life than you were happy about? I think for me it is being on line that seems to be consuming more of my life. I enjoy being part of the blogsphere, but it takes up most of my evenings, and by the time I get off the computer it is nearly time to go to sleep. I work all day, so it is the only time I get to write. I just need more hours.

Was it work, a hobby that got out of hand, health concerns or something else? My writing is both a hobby and work. It is something I enjoy, but equally I need to spend time away from the computer.

Lastly, have you managed to take back control, or does it still seem to be running the show, as it were?

I have been editing my novel first (this week) because I need to concentrate on my novel. Even if it is only for an hour, but there are nights when I can write, and nights where nothing I write is good enough. But at least I am back to writing and editing it.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
