At The Beach

https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/author/sadje19/ has given us a Sunday poser – Do you love going to the beach/seaside in the summer.

I love going to the beach in summer, and this year we went in May. There is something relaxing about being beside the sea. Watching the ocean, without any of the daily stresses. Building sandcastles, with dams. Going to get water, rushing back, hoping the water wouldn’t splash out.

My mum was never a big fan of the beach – she would sit there for an hour before she would say how hot she was. The bingo hall was on the parade, and she wanted to be there instead. I remember sitting with dad, while he read the newspaper, and sometimes he helped with my sandcastles.

Being on the beach gives you a sense that nature is amazing and when we finally stop we can appreciate its beauty.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
