The sun has got his hat on, is the song that I have in my head. https://jimadamsauthordotcom.wordpress.com/2022/11/24/thursday-inspiration-185-dont-let-the-sun-go-down-on-me/ has given me the inspiration to write about ”The Sun has got his Hat on”.
It was originally written in 1932 and sang in the1939 movie ”Me and My Girl”. When I am in a happy mood, I always hum that tune. That is quite strange, as I wasn’t even born then. It is such an iconic song, and probably has been used in many things
The Sun Has Got His Hat On” is a song by Noel Gay and Ralph Butler. It is also known for its appearance in the 1985 version of the musical Me and My Girl and was originally recorded in 1932 by two popular UK dance bands β Ambrose and his Orchestra, with vocals by Sam Browne, and by the Henry Hall BBC Dance Orchestra with vocals by Val Rosing.
The sun has got his hat on,
Hip, hip, hip, hooray,
The sun has got his hat on,
and it’s coming out to play!
It makes me smile, even though I know the sun is hiding behind clouds. Living in the UK, there is more chance of seeing rain than sun. However, even with the rain, if mixed with the sun, you will always have a rainbow. If not, it is great jumping in puddles.
I did not know this song Diana, but I like it.
