Being a mum is the most amazing job I could ever have.
From the moment my children were put in my arms, the overwhelming love I felt for them was worth more than any financial gain. I love them so much, and would do anything for them.
There are times though, where the word yes, has been overused.
I just cannot say no if they need my help. From that eight o’clock call from my daughter asking me to pop to the shops for something she has forgotten, to helping my son with his writing in his web comic. It doesn’t matter how tired I feel, I will always be there to support them.
I remember my own mum, being there for me, it is because we love our kids, wherever they may be. We are a close family, and I am grateful for that.
I am so proud of both of them. My daughter, a mum herself. My son, coping with life with autism. He sees the world in a different way, but then different isn’t a bad thing. He will always say yes, and is much like me. Although lately, he has been brave enough to say no.
Perhaps it is time to say no occasionally, but then, I’m not sure I know how.
