Countdown, Sundry and needle

The countdown to the new year didn’t go with the noise and pomp of a party. Being around all and sundry, too close for any peace of mind, getting the needle with crowds of strangers wasn’t for Tricia

She sat her on sofa, with a glass of red wine, and saw the new year in, not with a bang, but with a toast to the sky. There were no certainties in what would happen. She could meet the love of her life, or she could find the job of her dreams.

For now she wanted nothing more than a warm drink, and a comfortable pillow. So many didn’t have that benefit, and she thought herself luckier than most.

I am a fifty something mother of two grown up children, and one beautiful grandchild. I have been married for nearly thirty-four years. My first book was published ten years ago. I wrote my book Sticks and Stones because of my experience of being bullied at school.
